Your PDF is opened and rewritten inside your browser. It is never sent to a server, so confidential files are as safe as they are on your own computer.
Cropping changes the visible area. The cropped content may still exist in the file, so don't use this to hide confidential information.
It hides it from view. The data can still be in the file. For real redaction you need a tool that rasterizes the page.
Use the Pages box to crop some pages with one setting, then run the tool again for the others.
