# About

PDFJade is a set of PDF tools that run entirely in your browser. You open a page, choose a file, and the result is built on your own device.

That means no accounts, no watermarks, and no copy of your document sitting on someone else's server. It also means a few jobs are out of reach, such as turning a PDF into an editable Word file, and we say so rather than hide it.

## What PDFJade doesn't do

- Converting PDF to editable Word, Excel or PowerPoint, or Office files to PDF. Doing that well needs heavy server software.
- Editing the existing text of a PDF. You can add text, images and shapes on top in the Studio, not rewrite a paragraph in place.
- Signature requests with an audit trail. You can sign a PDF yourself, but not send it to others to sign and track it.
- Cloud storage, history or team accounts. Nothing is kept, so there is nothing to come back to.
- Very large jobs on weak devices. A 500-page scan on an old phone will be slow, because your phone does the work.
